Reading material please

We've started to look at books, maps etc. as we start toplan this big adventure. We've purchased the latest edition we could find of Frommers's Montana and Wyoming.

Also looking at websites like the Yellowstone Badlands tour .

Tony A recommends Theodore Toosevelt National Park in North Dakota where the bison come right up to the campsites and at night the coyotes howl like the banshees.

We're pretty sure weare purchasing the Quiksilver 8 as Paul has been in touch with the company who assure him the Sebring can tow the weight. We're investigating a Transmission support kit just in case.

10 months of planning?

We want to camp again - who'd thunk? But we want to be the following:
* comfortable
* warm
* sustainable

And we want to know about
* local food
* the history and culture of the places we camp
* the flora and fauna of the area

And we want to be able to do the following
* hike
* cook
* communicate with our children and grandchildren
* listen to good radio

And we think there are lots of 60-somethings who share these ideas and desires. So we are starting this blog as we plan for a major camping trip in an ultralight trailer to the Pacific Northwest in the US and Canada from Southampton Ontario.

We hope to leave next May, 2011 and get back in mid-July - in time to celebrate our 40th wedding anniversary with family and friends.

Any thoughts or ideas or products you think we should know about, please let us know. It's been a long time since we last went down that open road.
